This variety works for:

  • Fresh eating
  • Roasting
  • Salsa

This pepper is: SWEET

Bell peppers are sweetest when they mature to a full color, but the crunchy green flesh is a great addition to many savory dishes. You can stuff peppers with quinoa, rice, or a mixture of cheese and beans and bake or cook rings of pepper in a skillet with a fresh egg inside.

Roast your red peppers over a burner or under a broiler, then peel and puree with hummus or slice and add to grilled eggplant and mozzarella sandwiches with fresh basil.

Growing Instructions

Instructions - Sow seeds indoors ¼” deep. Peppers germinate best in warm soil, so gentle bottom heat may be helpful until seedlings emerge. Wait to transplant outdoors until soil is warm.

  • Start Indoors: 8 weeks before last frost
  • Germination: 14 Days
  • Plant Outdoors: 12-24” Apart
  • Light: Full Sun

Good as fresh or stuffed pepper

by

Received this as a free seed packet from Seed Savers last year. They germinated quite well and grew in South Carolina for the first months and ended in New Hampshire. No issues with disease and stood up well in the conditions of both areas. Mine never reached a yellow color, however we harvested while all were green (multiple times), and they made great stuffed peppers.

Worth the wait

by

This was my first year growing this variety and although they took a while to ripen here in northern Rhode island they were worth the wait. There are 3-4 large peppers on each plants and all seem to be ripening at once. The taste is deliciously sweet.

Meravigliosa sorpresa!

by

SW Ontario, tried these because I ordered late and couldn't find sweet red pepper seeds. WONDERFUL surprise. Now one of my favorites. And they freeze without any prep except a quick wash and seeding. We're still using last summer's. Good green, but sweet and flavorful ripe.
